Today, Wednesday, 4-28-10, I went to the Doc to get my last cast (or so I thought) removed and the stitches taken out. I thought I would be leaving in one of those moon boots, that allow you to walk around. Was I ever wrong. Scroll down and check out this brief trip to the Doc's today and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

Here I am talking to the Nurse as she gloves up to remove my pink cast..

This is the tool they use to cut of the casts. It looks like a small circular saw but it doesn't rotate, it vibrates. If it were to punch
thru the cast and come it contact with skin, it shuts off. I don't know how it does that but it does..

Here she is cutting down the cast on the inside of the leg

Here she is cutting down the cast on the outside of the leg

Here is what my foot looks like now, on the inside part of the foot. It was covered in dry skin that was flaking off. Doc said not to peel that stuff off because he wanted it to fall of naturally

Here is the outside part of the foot. Not as bad as the other side.

A close up on the inside again. I ask the Doc what that red gouge was and he said it was a drainage hole and nothing to worry about.

I got the camera from Janice and took this pic of the Nurse removing the sutures

Here she is taken out the stitches on the other side of the foot..

Here she is casting my foot. I asked for red & gold but she only had red, no gold. So, I opted for red

After we left the Doc's, Janice took us to eat at the Cracker Barrel out on I-44. This is our waitress Angela & Janice. We have known Angela for quite a while and she is like a member of the family.

Here I am looking all thrilled, at the Cracker Barrel in Wichita Falls Texas

Here I am at home after eating and the completed red cast.. This will conclude this post. This cast comes off May 19, 2010 and the Doc assured me that I would be in the moon boot at that time. I can't wait, but I am used to sitting and waiting by now.

Continue to pray for our troops in and out of harm's way and for Pattie (in Korea) and my niece Steffanie (in the Iraqi/Afghanistan Theatre).
