THE FOOT UPDATE: GRAPHIC PHOTO'S 3-17-10

I have received several emails from ya'll about how my foot is doing. Yesterday, 3-16-10, I went to the doc's to have the soft cast taken off and a hard cast put on. I had been in the light blue cast since 3-8-10 (day of surgery) and the Nurse had tried to get Janice to prepare herself, as my foot was going to look nasty after the 8 days covered up. So, scroll on down and check out the foot.

This is the night before I went in to get the cast removed & new one put on. I call this pic the look of morphine & vicodin

They took the cast off and voila'...Here is the foot. This is on the inside of my right foot. I have stitches on the heel and on the back tendon area. Crap!! This has gotta HURT!!

The outside of my right foot.

Looking down at the foot. lots of bruising, swelling & seepage.....I can see now where it might very well take me 3 months before I am back in the wind on the Harley.

This is my new black hard cast. I wear this for 2 weeks and then I go back in and they will remove the stitches and put me in another cast for another 3 weeks. Then, if all is going well, I will be in a "Moon Boot" looking thing for 4 weeks and then rehab....Be glad when this is over and healed. I will have to back to surgery one more time when this is healed. The foot was damaged more than they were anticipating and they could not keep me under to do the toes. So, I have that to look forward too. I think the doc said they will have to break the toes and put pins & plates in them..So,...
Thank you for all the prayers, calls and emails. I really appreciate them and if I could ask you to keep me on the prayer lists until this event is over, I would appreciate it. Please pray for Janice too, as she has to put up with her downed biker husband and you know that with the spring & summer coming up, Ol' Johhny Boy here, is gonna be a bear to live with. Thanks...

Until next post, be careful out there, keep your head on a swivel, keep the rubber on the road and above all else: RIDE SAFE.. also, keep Pattie (in Korea) and Steffanie (my niece in the Iraqi theatre) in your prayers until their safe return home to the USA!!.........................JOHN
