JIM'S BIKE DETAIL SHOP 7-24-09

Today, Friday, 7-24-09. I went to Jim's Bike Detail Shop to give him the updated blog address. I also had been promising him I would bring my camera and do an update on his business to put on the new blog. So, scroll on down and check out Jim's Bike Detail Shop and see what's new. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

Jim's Bike Detail Shop sits on the NW corner of Southwest Parkway/Barnett Road in Wichita Falls, Texas. The actual address is 5400 Southwest Parkway and the shop phone number is 940-691-1121.

The front of Jim's Bike Detail Shop. Jim does Motorcycle State Inspections (Texas) and Car & truck State Inspections

The Shop hours are Monday-Thursday 8.a.m.-6 p.m. Friday & Saturday are by appointment only. To setup your appointment you may call the shop at 940-691-1121 or contact Jim on his cell phone at: 940-232-4181. Also, Jim wanted me to let ya'll know that he now does oil changes. One of the deals he has going now is: a full detail, full oil change & cables check including clutch adjustment all for $130 labor. The oil is extra. He also sells bikes on consignment. For more details, contact Jim at the Shop or on his cell.

This is Jim's 07 Harley Davidson. When Jim details a bike, he washes it first and then removes the covers & saddlebags (on most models) and details it thoroughly. His bike is always the epitome of cleanliness and shine and he treats every bike that is brought to him as if it were his own. The man KNOWS what he is doing and is excellent at it.

Here is Jim in the shop. I have been on several rides with him and he is a great guy to ride with. He also is a lot of fun to be around. He has 47,000 miles or so on his 07 Harley from riding cross country and he has some stories. If you're in the area, stop in and make his acquaintance. He is someone I think most would like to call a friend. I tried to catch his 47,000 miles on Ms. Clone but it doesn't look like I am. I got Ms. Clone in Jan 08 and just turned 30,000 miles and will be trading her in before too long. But the chase to catch and surpass Jim has been a great experience!!

Now, how many folks do you know that would take their lunch hour and go help out and do some cleaning chores at a Motorcycle Detail Shop? This is Tammy and she is a nurse. Tammy also rides her own Harley and is on the biker site: Biker or not (http://www.bikerornot.com/) I have been on some rides with Tammy and she is a lot of fun to be around.

In the shop is a new addition: Jim's 73 Corvette Stingray. Jim says he has owned that for 32 years.

This 99 Harley just got a detail done and is waiting to be picked up. Jim does outstanding work..

This is Jim & his mascot, a 73 or 74 Kawasaki 900 cc Z-1.

Jim and his "Mascot"

Jim relaxing in the front of the shop. It was 86 degrees out and there was a nice breeze blowing in the front door. I let him have the door chair as we (Jim, Tammy & I) talked.

Tammy by the door just before she went back to work. This will conclude this post. If you need your bike cleaned up, go by and see Jim at Jim's Bike Detail Shop. He does ALL makes & models, however, if you have something exotic, give him a call first and make sure he can do it for you. This is one of the Local Biker owned/operated businesses that we must support as he is vital to the motorcycle community here in North Texas/Southern Oklahoma.
I will be putting posts on this blog that highlight local biker owned/operated businesses and any that I come across as I ride around this great state and Oklahoma as well as those I go to on my road trips. We have to support all the biker establishments, dealers and biker friendly businesses that we can. Because without these important folks, we are screwed.
