OUT & ABOUT & AROUND TOWN 10-28-09

Today, Wednesday, 10-28-09, the weather was clear but very windy. They were calling for winds of 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. I wanted to ride the Harley so I headed downtown to check the mail & then headed out to Red River Harley Davidson to talk to Greg. While it was windy, I don't think it was anywhere close to what they were calling for.. Scroll down and check out today's ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURES BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

After checking the mail at the main Post Office in Downtown Wichita Falls Texas, I headed out to Red River Harley Davidson to look around, check out some passenger foot boards for the Harley and talk to Gregg. When I got there, I found my favorite sales person, Wendi, hard at work. While talking to her, a longtime friend, Ron came in. Here is Wendi & Ron. Ron can play a bass guitar like no other and his wife, Connie, can sing like few others can.

Here is my longtime friend & former co-worker,(for 28 years), Greg. Greg runs the Riders Edge Program at Red River Harley Davidson. If you need to learn how to ride a bike, need a safety or advanced course, call Red River Harley Davidson at 940-264-7743 and ask for Greg. He will set you up with the course that you need.

The showroom was packed with new bikes. Here are some of them. This is a new Ultra Classic..

I think this is one of the new Road Glides

They pledge no "Blue Sky" with any purchase. Being ignorant of what "Blue Sky" was, I asked Greg what it meant about the same time that I noticed the B & S underlined...I am in the know now...

They still have the Blue/Silver Road King for sale..

And my second choice was the Blue/silver Heritage Softail Classic. I still like this bike but I love my black Softail Classic.

Here is the new Crossbones model..

This is one of the 2010 Harley trikes.. This was priced at $28,000. A lot less expensive than some I've seen & heard about at other places

Here is Choyce hard at work. Choyce was going to be my salesman on the new Harley until I found Sierra Oscar, my current Harley...Sierra Oscar is my nickname for my Harley which is phonetic for Significant Other. So, in the future I will just be calling the bike, SO...

I believe this is also a Road King. I love that paint job...

Here is Ginger hard at work. She is another one of the hard working, very helpful & knowledgeable sales staff in the Motor clothes Department.

Wendi & Ginger take a second to humor me and let me get a picture..

Amber, hard at it. She is the Motor clothes Department Supervisor and a great person...If you are ever in the area, stop in and say hi to Amber, Wendi, Ginger, Greg, Choyce and all the other great folks at Red River Harley Davidson here in Wichita Falls Texas and check out the great deals they have on the bikes, clothing & accessories...

My first official purchase as a Harley owner is a pack of three Harley Davidson Rags... Gotta start somewhere ya know...

I left Red River Harley Davidson and headed home. I stopped at Jim's Bike Detail Shop to talk to Jim before going to the house. This is one of the many bikes he has scheduled to clean up & detail.

Another bike awaiting clean up. These two bikes are there primarily because the owners used the wrong kind of wheel cleaner on the Aluminum cast wheels and really screwed the finish up. Jim was going to make the wheels look good!

The store front of Jim's Bike Detail Shop 5400 Southwest Parkway Wichita Falls Texas 76310 940-691-1121. Jim does state inspection, oil changes, washes, detailing and sells bikes on consignment.. Give Jim a call today for your motorcycle needs...

Here is a 2000 Harley Road King with 12,000 miles that Jim is detailing for a customer

Here is Jim as he gets ready to get back to work on the Harley. Jim says the business is great and at times overwhelming. He wants to thank everyone for supporting him and spreading the word about the great job he does on the bikes. Let's continue to support Jim because a clean bike is next to Godliness.....

I leave Jim's and on the way home, pass by Van's house & I see him outside with his Harley. So, I turn around and go see what's up with Van. Here is Van & his Road King. Van is a good friend and also a former co-worker of mine.

Van & Trish, his wife, and several other couples are heading down to Galveston Texas for the Lone Star Rally this weekend. There is some wet weather moving in and Van & Trish are leaving in about 30 minutes to try and get out of the storms path before it hits. Here is Van moving his Harley out of the way of the garage door so Trish can pull in and they can load the bike & leave. For more on the Lone Star Rally, see this link: http://www.lonestarrally.com/ Ride Safe and have a great time Van, and we'll see ya when you get back.
This will conclude this post. I enjoyed seeing everyone at Red River Harley Davidson today and eating lunch with Greg. I enjoyed visiting Jim and seeing him staying busy.. I also want to thank everybody for supporting Jim & his shop. He does outstanding work and the bikes that line up out front of the detail Shop waiting to be detailed or worked on, are a testimony to that fact. I also, above all else, enjoyed getting out and riding the Harley today.
